There are many uses for garden stones and rocks, besides pathways/driveways, as concrete component (Cracker Dust Blue Metal or Road Base), you can consider rocks and stones as a non-organic mulch. They do not decompose and are very decorative like Blue Metal, recycled Brick, Pea Gravel or other rocks.
It helps to keep the soil cooler by shielding it from the sun, prevents evaporation and weed growth and it obviously looks good.

Cracked Pea Gravel can be used as a path or driveway. It will remain loose on the surface due to the lack of fines/dust to enable compaction. But the “cracked” edges gives it the ability to lock in to each other and is less slippery than the whole gravel. It also works well in native gardens and landscapes as an alternative to wood-based mulch as it doesn’t degrade over time. It provides the soil with some level of sun protection and allows for excellent drainage. Usually a depth of 50mm-100mm is recommended. We suggest installing Geofabric underneath to stop the aggregate from mixing in with the existing sand, and to help control weeds. 12mm in size

Crushed Limestone has pieces of 10mm down to dust in it. It is commonly used as a sub-base under paved paths and driveways, added to make limestone concrete or compacted to make a path. It is decorative and creates texture and has great drainage properties. Also serves as a good compacted base under horse stables, arenas and pathways built on sandy soils. Size 19mm

Vibrant in colour, Recycled Crushed Brick is suitable for drainage and filter applications, retaining walls, a feature for low traffic areas, landscaping or as general concrete aggregate. Our cream-coloured Recycled Crushed Brick is imitating rainbow quartz, but a much cheaper option and recycled from the local tip. Available in cream and red, 10-20mm.
